It’s better to hire a professional technician to fix it for you, but if you know how to fix it, you can do it yourself as well. Here are simple steps that will help you fix your garage door bracket. Let’s have a look.

Garage Epoxy Flooring

1- Tighten up the Loosened Garage Door Bracket

Garage door opener problems appear in numerous ways, and one of them is the bracket problem. If your garage door bracket is not secured to the mount, it is possible to have loose screws. You can easily go through the entire length of the bracket to find loose screws and bolts. Tighten up the screws that are loose with a screwdriver or wrench to secure the bracket to the wall.

2- Chip and Dent gar

If the bracket is securely attached to the wall, you must find the other problems that usually cause damage to the garage door bracket. Chips and dents are one of them, and they can prevent your garage door from working properly. You can repair them by tapping them with a hammer. If the bracket is totally damaged, it must be replaced.

3- Align Uneven Garage Door Bracket

An uneven bracket can do a lot of damage to your garage door. Use the level to check if it is even. If not, make the necessary adjustments to it.

4- Check the Mounting Bracket

A mounting bracket can secure the motor head if your garage door is screw-driven. In most cases, it is a screw-driven handrail so place a ladder next to the bracket for proper inspection. If it is damaged, it should be replaced. Place a second ladder beneath the damaged bracket. It needs to be placed under the railing, so you may need to adjust its height using tree trimmings.

5- Removal of the Damaged Bracket

Remove the damaged bracket using a socket wrench while holding the second ladder. Remove the handrail bolts before unscrewing the bracket itself. Place the bolts on the other side to lower the bracket.

6- New Bracket Installation

Before installing the new bracket, check the wooden fixture to which the bracket will be attached before snapping into place. Ensure that it’s durable enough to withstand the bracket’s weight and will not damage the bracket when you remove it. After verifying that it is in better condition, install the new bracket using the same screws used for the old bracket. Press firmly on the mount to prevent it from moving. Before tightening the bolts, bolt the railing to ensure it is level. Once you are done with the required adjustment, tighten the screws.

A problematic garage door bracket should not be left untreated. So, fix it yourself by following the above simple steps or call a professional before you face any big issue because of it.
